Modular Sample Case Assemblies
Apex Instruments modular sample case assemblies utilize an interchangeable design that allows for the user to assemble any of our filter ovens, risers, and impinger cases in a variety of configurations to suit the user’s needs.
The Modular Sample Case is used for support, protection, and environmental control of the glassware in the sampling train. The Modular Sample Case consists of an insulated heated filter compartment (Hot Box) and insulated impinger case (Cold Box).
- Heated Filter Ovens: Constructed of lightweight, powder-coated aluminum with insulated aluminum panels. Stainless steel hardware. Internal reinforcements reduce flexing when testing with long probes. Front and rear doors provide greater accessibility. The handle is designed for attaching to a monorail for easy traversing.
- Impinger Case: The impinger case (cold box) holds the sampling train impingers in an ice bath so that the stack gas sample is cooled as it passes through the impingers to condense the water vapor. This process allows you to measure stack gas moisture volume, then use that reading to calculate stack gas density.Impinger cases are constructed from a thick aluminum to reduce cracking and a durable polyethylene foam insulation. The cases have a pre-punched foam insert for holding the impinger bottles in place, a fold-down handle with a rope-centering guide, and two high-strength brackets for mounting the strain relief. The impinger cases slide on and off for easy changing of the impinger sets between test runs.
- Risers: Sample Case Risers attach to the base of the filter oven for test methods requiring extra height between the filter outlet and the first impinger. The SBR-10 riser is required for attaching the impinger case to the SB-2M for rigid arrangements. SBR-93CFM is a riser with a blower in it for air-cooled probes.
