XD-502G2 Console

Price range: $5,215.00 through $6,190.00

The XD-502 Series Console from Apex Instruments is designed for isokinetic sampling of particulate matter pollutants from stationary sources, e.g., stacks, flues, vents, or pipes. The console is commonly used for US EPA Methods 2, 4, 5, 23, 26A, 29, 201A, 202, OTM-45, OTM-55, CTM-027, ASTM D6784-02 Ontario Hydro, and Solid Waste 846 Method 0010. However, it is also suitable for most sampling methods requiring accurate extractive sample measurements at isokinetic or constant sample flow rates.

Description

The new generation of our XD-502 Digital Source Sampling Console monitors gas velocities, temperatures, sample flow rates, and volumes for maintaining isokinetic sampling conditions. This next generation console includes highly-requested features and capabilities from our customers and can easily be adapted to all isokinetic testing methods including US EPA Methods 2, 4, 5, 23, 26A, 29, 201A, 202, OTM-45, OTM-55, CTM-027, ASTM D6784-02 Ontario Hydro, and Solid Waste 846 Method 0010. Presenting a new look and feel, some new features include user-replaceable electronic pressure transducers and a user-replaceable digital vacuum sensor, a physical buzzer that has been added to front of the console for the traverse point alarm, and a Wi-Fi module for increased flexibility of connection. If you are looking for a fully-automated console, check out our XC-5000.

A 32-bit microcontroller converts the sensor inputs and displays the totalized sample volume, temperatures, and pressures into configured units of measure. The transflective LCD display is sunlight-readable and backlit so it can be seen in the dark. Two advanced, self-tuning 1/32 DIN temperature controllers with individual solid-state relays are used for controlling heaters, e.g. probe and filter heaters. The digital LCD screen displays the dry gas meter volume, elapsed time, the dry gas meter differential orifice pressure (ΔH), stack velocity differential pressure (ΔP), data point information, and all 8 thermocouples. Coarse and fine valves are used to control the sample flow rate and to adjust the vacuum during leak checks. A 1/2″ sample inlet quick connect provides a convenient connection for the sample vacuum line. An easy-to-use 6-button keypad is used to reset the gas volume and elapsed time at the start of each sample period, along with other functions.

Building on the legacy of the XD-502, the XD-502G2 introduces an integrated data acquisition and control system, which streamlines data logging and monitoring by providing real-time digital control and on-screen display of all operating parameters. This enhanced digital integration improves workflow efficiency, reduces manual recording errors, and gives operators more confidence in their sampling accuracy.

This new generation XD-502 also includes increased processing power, multiple language support within the software, and general software and firmware improvements. The console can be ordered without the internal pump and used with any external pump.
