This transition ensures customers continue to receive high-quality, fully compatible glassware for all Apex sampling systems—now with the added benefit of shorter lead times thanks to Merge Scientific’s local presence.

Design Update for GN‑9A / GN‑9AO Impingers

Under Merge Scientific’s manufacture, GN‑9A and GN‑9AO inserts will feature a single O‑ring taper joint instead of the previous double O‑ring design. This update maintains nominal dimensions and connection style while offering proven sealing performance widely used in isokinetic sampling glassware. To ensure a smooth transition, we want to assure our customers that we currently have approximately five months of inventory for the double O-ring style. These will remain available for purchase until stock is depleted, providing ample time for customers to plan and adapt.

Performance and Reliability

The single O‑ring design provides a secure, leak-free seal and allows safe release of stuck joints through controlled heating—an advantage for field and lab operations.

No Change in Application

GN‑9A and GN‑9AO remain fully suitable for Method 5 and related sampling configurations. Customers will continue to benefit from Apex Instruments’ trusted service and Merge Scientific’s specialized glassware expertise.
